December 2025

2025 was a big year for MetaGrid Pro.

If I had to describe this year in one line, it would be this:
I went deep instead of wide.

Rather than piling on random new features, I spent most of 2025 rethinking and rebuilding the parts of MetaGrid Pro that matter most in everyday use. Some of this work is very visible, some of it happened quietly behind the scenes — but all of it was about making MetaGrid feel faster, clearer, and easier to grow with.

Here’s what that looked like 👇

🧩 Grid Editing
Grid editing was basically reinvented. Building and adjusting layouts is now faster, more direct, and much more fluid — with better selection, smarter actions, and less friction when working on larger setups.

🎛️ Presets
Presets got a completely new system. Finding, importing, and using both free and premium presets is now simpler and more predictable, making it easier to reuse ideas and build on existing work.

⚙️ Settings
Settings were fully redesigned with a new look and many more configuration options. Everything is more structured, easier to understand, and better aligned with how you actually use MetaGrid day to day.

☁️ Sharing & Cloud
The sharing system was rebuilt from the ground up and extended with Google Drive and Microsoft OneDrive support — all managed from a centralized place in Settings. Moving grids and presets between devices is now much smoother.

⌨️ Productivity & Integrations
Across the app, improvements landed almost everywhere: redesigned context menus, a keyboard shortcuts catalog and recorder, and deep Cubase MIDI Remote integration for advanced workflows.

Was it a lot of work? Definitely 😅
Was it glamorous work? Not always.
But this is the kind of year that makes everything else possible.

MetaGrid Pro now feels more solid, more flexible, and better prepared for what’s next.

As always, your feedback, ideas, and real-world use cases play a huge role in shaping where this goes. I read them, I test them, and they genuinely influence the direction.

Thanks for being part of the journey — the next chapter is already taking shape.

What’s New in MetaGrid Pro 1.6.16

We’re closing out the year with a refinement-focused update — polishing the details that matter most to your daily workflow.

This release improves stability, reliability, and performance across MetaGrid Pro:

• Undo and redo now work reliably on all supported systems
• Google Drive file lists now show the correct dates
• Grid switching is faster, smoother, and shows noticeably reduced flicker
• Copying and pasting multiple objects now preserves their original order
• OneDrive integration works correctly after switching accounts
• Additional performance and stability improvements throughout the app

Thanks for using MetaGrid Pro and for all the feedback this year. More refinements and new capabilities are coming in the next release.

Spotlight: Pete Martin’s 5K Touchscreen Workflow with MetaGrid Pro

We’re thrilled to share something truly special — a first look at MetaGrid Pro running on a 5K large-format touchscreen inside the studio of award-winning, Oscar-shortlisted composer Pete Martin.

Pete has been using MetaGrid since its earliest days, and this week he shared a glimpse of how MetaGrid Pro has become a core part of his modern Logic Pro workflow. Seeing it integrated into a setup of this level is not only inspiring — it shows what MetaGrid Pro becomes in the hands of a world-class creator.

“I’ve used MetaGrid Pro on iPad ever since it came out. It’s sheer brilliance. Just upgraded it to a 5K touch screen running MetaGrid Pro which takes the experience to a whole new level.”
— Pete Martin

In Pete’s studio, MetaGrid Pro sits right alongside a full hybrid composing rig: multi-monitor Logic Pro layout, Genelec monitoring, hardware controllers, and now a massive multitouch surface running MetaGrid Pro.
The result is a workflow that’s fast, tactile, and incredibly immersive — perfect for navigating large orchestral sessions, triggering macros, controlling timelines, switching tools, and keeping creativity flowing.

This is one of the clearest real-world examples of how MetaGrid Pro scales from iPad to full desktop-sized touchscreen control. It’s a glimpse into the future of hybrid DAW interaction — and we’re excited to see where creators like Pete take it next.

Thank you, Pete, for sharing your setup and for being with us since the very beginning.
