Adding Objects to Your Grid

Adding Objects to Your Grid

Every control in MetaGrid Pro — buttons, faders, pads, and more — lives inside a grid slot. Follow these steps to add any object type to your grid.

Step-by-Step

Step 1: Enter Edit Mode

Tap Edit in the top bar to switch to Edit Mode.

Step 2: Open the Layout Editor

Tap Layout to open the Layout Editor where you manage your grid's slot structure.

Step 3: Prepare a Slot

Clear any existing objects and merge empty slots to create space for your new object. Some objects require larger slots — if a slot is too small, a placeholder will appear showing the minimum required dimensions.

Step 4: Select the Slot

Tap the empty slot where you want to place the object.

Step 5: Choose an Object Type

Tap Add and select the object type from the list. The object appears in the slot immediately. Tap it to open the Inspector and configure its behavior and appearance.

Tips

  • Buttons are the default object type. New grids come pre-populated with Standard Buttons. To change a button's type, tap it in Edit Mode and select a different type from the dropdown at the top of the Inspector.
  • Pads, XY Pad, and Gesture Pad require a minimum slot size. Merge multiple slots together before adding these objects.
  • Art Conductor is listed as "Logic Articulation Remote" in the Add menu.
  • You can place multiple objects of the same type on a single grid — for example, several Gesture Pads or Faders, each with independent settings.
