Logic Pro

Description

Integrates with Logic Pro via a dedicated MIDI mapping. Covers over 1,900 Logic Pro commands without requiring key-command setup. Includes a Logic project with the MIDI Transform Sets used by the MetaGrid Pro MIDI Composer preset.

Setup

MetaGrid Pro talks to Logic Pro through AppleScript. No MIDI port setup or keyboard shortcuts needed — only a one-time macOS Automation permission grant.

Permissions

The first time you trigger a Logic Pro command from MetaGrid Pro, macOS prompts you to grant MetaServer permission to run AppleScripts. Accept the dialog; no further configuration is needed.

Using Logic Pro Commands

Create a button, add a macro, and select the Logic Pro action type. Browse the command categories and pick the desired command. The action executes immediately in Logic Pro.

MIDI Transform Sets (Premium)

The premium Logic Pro MIDI Composer grid is backed by a set of custom MIDI Transformers shipped as a Logic project.

Step 1: Install via MetaServer

Open MetaServer → Integrations → Logic Pro. In the Integration Components card, click Install on the MIDI Transform Sets row. MetaServer copies MetaGrid_Pro_MIDI_Transform_Sets.logicx to your Downloads folder and reveals it in Finder.

Step 2: Import into Your Project

Open the downloaded project in Logic Pro. The Transform Sets live in its Environment (Window → Open MIDI Environment). Copy them from there into the Environment of the Logic project you want to drive from the MIDI Composer preset.

PlugTools / Art Conductor

The Art Conductor object provides articulation management for Logic Pro tracks. It uses PlugTools (formerly PlugSearch) by Speakerfood and Art Conductor articulation sets by Babylonwaves — both sold separately.

Menu Commands (Alternative)

On Mac, you can also control Logic Pro using the Menu Command action. This gives access to every Logic Pro menu item — useful for commands that aren't in MetaGrid Pro's Logic Pro action list.
