Studio One

Description

Drives Studio One from your iOS device through a custom User Device — PreSonus's native MIDI controller protocol for two-way command and selected-channel bindings.

Studio One has been rebranded as Studio Pro by Fender; if you've upgraded, use the Studio Pro card instead. This card is kept for existing Studio One installs.

Setup

Legacy product. Studio One has been rebranded as Studio Pro by Fender and is no longer sold. The MetaGrid Pro integration is kept for existing Studio One users. If you've upgraded, see Studio Pro Setup for the new auto-install flow.

Studio One integration uses a custom user device created by the MetaGrid team. On Mac, you can also use the Menu Command action for direct access to all menu items.

Install the User Device

Step 1: Open MetaServer

Open MetaServer → Integrations → Studio One.

Step 2: Install the User Device

In the Integration Components card, click Install on the MetaSystem User Device row. MetaServer copies the metasystem folder into:

• Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/PreSonus Software/Studio One <version>/User Devices/
• Windows: %APPDATA%\PreSonus\Studio One <version>\User Devices\

The row turns green once the copy finishes. If the button isn't enabled, launch Studio One once so it creates its application-support folder, then come back to MetaServer.

Configure Studio One

Step 1: Open Preferences

In Studio One, open the Preferences window (Mac: Command + ,, Windows: Ctrl + ,).

Step 2: Go to External Devices

Select the External Devices tab.

Step 3: Add the Device

Click Add. In the device browser, expand the MetaSystem folder and select MetaGrid.

Step 4: Assign MIDI Ports

Set Receive From and Send To to Metasystem - StudioPro - In/Out (Mac) or the corresponding LoopMIDI port (Windows). Studio One routes through the Studio Pro MIDI port now — the dedicated Studio One port was retired, but the integration itself stays alive for legacy users.

Step 5: Confirm

Click OK. Studio One can now receive commands from MetaGrid Pro.

Menu Commands (Mac Only)

The Menu Command action gives direct access to every Studio One menu item. Create a button, add a Menu Command action, and select the desired command. No MIDI configuration needed.
