Grid Sync

Grid Sync transfers grids between MetaGrid Pro instances without exporting or importing files. All devices must be connected to MetaServer and running MetaGrid Pro.

Set Up Device Identifiers

Each device needs a unique identifier so MetaServer can distinguish between them.

Step 1: Open Controller ID Settings

On your Mac or iPad, navigate to Settings > MetaServer.

Step 2: Assign a Unique Name

Select Controller ID and enter a unique name for your device, such as "Mac Editor" or "MGP iPad 1."

Sync a Grid

Step 1: Start the Sync

On the source device, navigate to the grid you want to transfer. Use either method:

  • Select File > Sync Grid from the top menu.
  • Open the Grid Selector and tap the Grid Sync icon.

Step 2: Select the Destination

Any connected device with a unique Controller ID appears in the destination list. Select your target device.

Step 3: Complete the Transfer

MetaGrid Pro handles the transfer based on the grid's status on the destination device:

  • Grid/profile exists: You are asked to overwrite the grid or keep the existing one.
  • No grid/profile exists: MetaGrid Pro copies the grid to the target profile or creates a new one if needed.

Pro Tip: Grid Sync works in both directions. Follow the same steps on any device to sync a grid back to another Mac or iPad.
