Network Settings
The Network page (Mac) or Network tab (Windows) controls how MetaGrid Pro connects to MetaServer, and displays your computer's network addresses and a QR code for quick setup.
Connection Settings
Ask Before Connecting
When enabled, MetaServer shows a confirmation prompt each time a new device tries to connect over Wi-Fi. Disable to allow devices to connect automatically.
Mac label: Ask Before Connecting. Windows label: Ask before network connection.
USB Only Mode
Restricts connections to USB only. Wi-Fi discovery and connections are disabled. Enable this if you work exclusively with a cable or need to prevent wireless connections.
Mac: enabling this with Wi-Fi clients connected prompts for confirmation before disconnecting them. Windows label: USB connection only.
Network Compatibility
Enable TCP
Switches Wi-Fi communication from UDP to TCP. TCP is more reliable on unstable or congested networks but may add slight latency. Changing this setting disconnects current Wi-Fi clients.
Disable IPv6
Disables IPv6 network discovery. Enable this if devices on your network have trouble finding MetaServer. Occasionally needed on networks with misconfigured IPv6 routing.
Network Addresses
The Network Info section lists your computer's IPv4 and IPv6 addresses. Use them to manually add your computer in MetaGrid Pro if automatic discovery does not find it.
Mac: Tap the copy button next to any address to copy it to the clipboard. Tap Show all addresses to see addresses for every network interface on your machine.
Quick Connect QR Code
The QR code at the bottom of the page contains your server's connection details. In MetaGrid Pro, tap the plus button on the Connection Screen and select Scan QR Code to connect without entering an address manually.
Applying Changes
Mac: Network setting changes take effect immediately as you toggle them.
Windows: Click Ok to save. Network setting changes take effect immediately after saving. Connected devices may need to reconnect.
