Guide/MetaServer/Settings

Settings

The Settings page (Mac) or Settings tab (Windows) configures general MetaServer behaviour: startup, custom icons (Mac), and software updates.

Startup

Start When You Log In

Enable to launch MetaServer automatically when you log in to your computer. MetaServer runs silently in the menu bar (Mac) or system tray (Windows) and is ready to accept connections without manual intervention.

Mac label: Start When You Log In. Windows label: Start with Windows.

Custom Icons (Mac)

MetaGrid Pro can display custom icons served from a folder on your Mac. When MetaGrid Pro's icon source is set to Local Folder, it loads icons from the directory configured here.

Setting the Icons Directory

Tap Choose Folder and select the folder containing your icon files. MetaServer serves these icons to all connected MetaGrid Pro instances.

The folder can be a local directory or an iCloud Drive folder. Icons must be in PNG format.

Windows: The Custom Icons folder lives under the Files tab in the Setup window, not the Settings tab.

Updates

Auto Check for Updates

When enabled, MetaServer checks for new versions each time it launches. You receive a notification when an update is available.

Mac label: Auto Check for Updates. Windows label: Auto Check for Update.

Check for Updates

Manually check for the latest version.

Mac: tap Check Now. The current version number is shown below the button.

Windows: click Check for update.
