Pads

Pads send MIDI Note On/Off messages. They support chromatic and scale layouts, isomorphic layouts, a piano keyboard, and a standalone single pad.

Add Pads to Your Grid

Step 1: Enter Edit Mode

Tap Edit in the toolbar.

Step 2: Open Layout

Tap Layout and clear or merge slots to create enough space.

Step 3: Insert the Pads Object

Tap the empty slot, select Add, then pick Pads.

Important: If the slot is too small, a placeholder will indicate the required dimensions.

Pad Variations

Open the dropdown menu in the Inspector to choose a variation:

• Pads — Standard MIDI pads in a chromatic or scale layout.
• Isomorphic Pads — MIDI pads arranged in an isomorphic layout.
• Piano Keyboard — A traditional piano keyboard layout.
• Single Pad — One standalone MIDI pad.

On-Grid Controllers

• Root — Set the root note for the scale.
• Scale — Choose the musical scale.
• Double — Raise the note by +12 semitones.
• Hold — Tap once to hold the pad, tap again to release.

Important: Multi-touch and glissandos are not supported in Hold mode.

Inspector Settings

Common Options

• Style, visibility, and color settings for the Pads object.
• Velocity control via a slider or touch-based input.
• Snapshot linkage to save and recall note velocity through the velocity slider.

Pads-Specific Settings

• MIDI Channel and octave selection.
• Pad visibility and note label display.
• Alternating background colors for visual clarity.

Isomorphic Pads Settings

• MIDI channel, octave, and pads-per-row configuration.
• Optional alternating background colors for rows.

Single Pad Settings

• Custom text and note assignment.

Piano Keyboard Settings

• MIDI channel, number of rows, and octave configuration.
