Creating and Using Profiles

Profiles let you maintain separate control sets for different applications. MetaGrid Pro switches to the matching profile automatically when you change the active app on your computer.

Create a Profile

Step 1: Open the Target Application

Make sure the application you want to create a profile for (for example, Google Chrome) is running on your computer.

Step 2: Open the Content Manager

Tap the profile name on the top bar in MetaGrid Pro to open Settings, then tap Content Manager. You can also open it by tapping Content on the top bar in Edit Mode.

Pro Tip: Double-tap the profile name to go directly to the Content Manager.

Step 3: Add a Profile

Under Profiles, tap the + icon and select the application (for example, Google Chrome) from the list. A new profile, workspace, and 6x6 grid are created automatically. Tap Done.

Step 4: Verify Automatic Switching

With Google Chrome active on your computer, MetaGrid Pro switches to the Chrome profile automatically.

Important: In the free version, you can create new profiles, but they cannot trigger macros. Upgrade to Premium to enable macro triggering for all profiles.

Automatic Profile Switching

MetaGrid Pro detects the active application on your computer and switches to the corresponding profile. If no matching profile exists, it falls back to the Desktop profile (configurable in Settings > Automation & Scripting).

Setting up profiles for your most-used applications keeps the right controls ready when you need them.
