XY Pad

The XY Pad controls up to 16 MIDI CC parameters simultaneously through an interactive XY crosshair interface.

Add the XY Pad to Your Grid

Step 1: Enter Edit Mode

Tap Edit in the toolbar.

Step 2: Open Layout

Tap Layout and clear or merge slots to create space.

Step 3: Insert the XY Pad

Tap the empty slot, select Add, then pick XY Pad.

Important: If the slot is too small, a placeholder will indicate the required dimensions.

On-Grid Controls

  • X/Y Buttons — Restrict movement to either the X or Y axis.
  • Apply Ranges — Toggle between standard (0-127) and custom value ranges, including reversed ranges like 127-0.
  • Hide CC Selector — Hide the CC section at the bottom of the object.
  • CC Selector Section — Located at the bottom; contains pads for choosing predefined CC parameters configured in the Inspector.
  • Local Snapshot Pads — Positioned on the right; save and recall values for the currently selected CC parameters.

Global Settings (Inspector)

Style Presets Section

  • Style Preset — Set the overall visual style for the XY Pad.

Cross-Hair Section

  • Crosshair Type — Choose from several crosshair designs.
  • Crosshair Size — Set the crosshair size.
  • Always Show XY Traces — Display guidelines for the crosshair at all times.

Display Options Section

  • Number of Controllers — Set how many controllers appear in the CC Selector.
  • Apply Colors to CC Selectors — Assign distinct style presets to each CC Selector.
  • Hide Position Indicators — Hide position markers on the XY pad.
  • Hide Local Snapshot Pads — Hide the Local Snapshot Pads section.
  • Hide Top Bar — Hide the top bar.
  • Hide Range Info — Hide the range information display.

Pad Behaviour Section

  • Update X/Y Values on Tap — When enabled, XY values update on tap. When disabled, values change only while dragging.

Snapshots Section

Link the XY Pad to a Snapshots object to save and recall values for all CC parameters. See the Snapshots article for details.

Controller Settings (Inspector)

  • CC Controller Selector — Select a controller item (based on CC Selector order) to edit. The number of available items is set by Number of Controllers in Global settings.
  • CC Selector Text — Define text for the selector pad.
  • CC — Assign the CC parameter number.
  • MIDI Channel — Set the MIDI channel for this CC parameter.
  • Start Value — Set the beginning of the CC value range (default: 0).
  • End Value — Set the end of the CC value range (default: 127).
  • CC Controller Style Preset — Assign a visual style for this individual controller.
