Guide/MetaGrid Pro Basics/Creating Custom Grids

Creating Custom Grids

Each profile can contain multiple grids. Use them to organize controls by task — for example, a grid of bookmark buttons in a browser profile, or a mixing grid in a DAW profile.

Create a New Grid

Step 1: Open the Grid Creator

Tap the profile name (for example, Google Chrome) on the top bar, then tap New. You can also do this from the Content Manager.

Step 2: Configure the Grid

Assign a name, choose a skin, and set the grid resolution.

Pro Tip: A 24x24 grid gives you an empty canvas with individual slots for fully custom layouts.

Pro Tip: The skin determines the dashboard tint and grid background color.

Step 3: Select the Creation Option

A Create Grid Options popup appears with Grid and Scenes and Grid options. Select Grid.

Step 4: Finish

The new grid is added to the list of available grids. Tap Close to return to your workspace.

Important: The new grid is created but not yet visible in your workspace. You need to add an access point (a scene or button) to navigate to it. See Smooth Navigation for details.

Design Grids Around Tasks

Plan each grid around a specific set of tasks within an application. Group related controls — website navigation, tool palettes, media transport — so each grid gives you direct access to what you need.
